I am a New Zealand–born dentist of Korean heritage and grew up in Auckland. I studied dentistry at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Australia.
My journey into dentistry began during a high school English-teaching trip to Thailand, where I was first exposed to dental poverty and saw firsthand how significantly oral health can impact quality of life. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of accessible dental care and inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a practical and meaningful difference.
Being naturally good with my hands, dentistry felt like the perfect fit. I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, but what I love most is being able to directly help people who are in pain or in need, and to provide care that genuinely improves their comfort and wellbeing. I place a strong emphasis on gentle, thoughtful treatment and clear communication so patients feel informed and at ease. Outside of work, I am a parent to two young children under the age of five, which has further shaped my compassionate and patient-centred approach to care. Looking ahead, I hope to participate in medical and dental mission trips, using my skills to support underserved communities and improve access to oral healthcare.
