Listen carefully, treat thoughtfully, and always put the patient first.
– Dr. Paul Vickery

My approach to care starts with listening. I believe good dentistry begins with understanding the person, not just the teeth. I focus on conservative, evidence-based treatment and clear, open communication. I often tell patients that my role is to explain the options clearly and help them choose what feels right for them. Prevention, long-term outcomes, and trust are central to how I practise. I also believe strongly in giving back to the community and am proud to work in a practice that supports this in practical ways. We provide a relief-of-pain service for patients with a Community Services Card and have supported a Te Whatu Ora pilot programme offering free dental care to disadvantaged patients with rheumatic heart disease.

Kia ora. I am a general dentist who enjoys providing calm, thoughtful care tailored to each patient. Early in my career, I noticed that many people weren’t just worried about their teeth — they were anxious about being judged or not being listened to. That realisation shaped how I practise today. I work across all areas of general dentistry, with a strong interest in preventive and restorative care. I particularly enjoy helping patients who feel anxious or have had difficult past dental experiences, and supporting them to feel more comfortable and confident over time.

What I value most about my work is building long-term relationships and helping patients make informed decisions that genuinely suit them.

I am involved in my local school community and serve as Presiding Member of my son’s school board, contributing to decisions that support students and whanau.
