Kullasit, a dually-qualified dentist/oral pathologist, graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with credit) from the University of Otago in 2011. Following this, he worked as a dental house surgeon at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals, where he looked after the oral health needs of inpatients, medically- compromised patients and also emergency trauma/ dental infection-related patients. He also had a stint in the Kapiti Coast as a general dentist before heading back down to Dunedin to specialise in Oral Pathology.
Kullasit completed the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry ( in Oral Pathology) degree in 2016 and relocated to Auckland in 2017 after being offered a part-time consultant oral pathologist position at Auckland DHB’s Anatomic Pathology Service. Here he examines the tissue samples (biopsy removed by the oral surgeons )from patients’ lumps,bumps and patches in the oral cavity under the microscope to determine the type of tumour and is always on the lookout for cancers like oral cancer or oral lymphoma.
Kullasit spends the remainder of the week with Smile Dental providing general dental treatments to patients in gentle and caring manners and also assessing patients with oral lumps and bumps referred from other dentists.
Outside work, he is an avid foodie-cooking,baking and trying out different restaurants.Originally from Bangkok,Thailand, he has been in NZ for 16 years and is fluent in both English and Thai.
